River City Men's Chorus Male Vocal/Choral Scholarship
Statement of purpose
The River City Men's Chorus Male Vocal/Choral Scholarship has been established to financially support young, aspiring male singers in their academic pursuit of a music degree with an emphasis on choral singing, conducting or composing.
Eligibility Guidelines
The River City Men's Chorus Male Vocal/Choral Scholarship is eligible to any male student in his senior year of a public or private high school in Arkansas . The student must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.75 and plan to major in music, carrying 12 hours or its equivalent full-time credit hour load at an accredited institution of higher education.
Financial Award Guidelines
Amount of award: $1,000/year, renewable up to an additional three years pending fulfillment of following criteria:

Documented maintenance of a 2.75 overall GPA*

Documented progress towards a music major degree*

Credit-load per semester of 12 hours or its equivalent full-time credit hour load at an accredited institution of higher education*

Availability of requisite funds in RCMC's annual budget
*A school transcript will serve as documentation for the above criteria.
Proof of enrollment into the university of choice is required before monetary award is given; all award money will be given directly to the university in which the student is enrolled to be applied towards the student's tuition and fees.
To apply
Submit the following, postmarked no later than Friday, February 12, 2010:
a) Application form (pdf file)
b) Two letters of recommendation in a sealed envelope
c) Essay
d) Audition tape, CD, DVD or VHS of two contrasting musical selections
Finalists are required to attend a live audition/interview on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1101 N Mississippi Street in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Notification of selection of finalists will be made by March 1, 2010. Notification of the winner and final outcome of the competition will be made by March 31, 2010.
